• Cubana de Aviación was founded on October 8, 1929. In 1945 its fleet acquired the best aircraft ever built at that time; the legendary Douglas DC-3, which represented a qualitative leap in the development of the company.

• In 1959, Cuba’s two main airlines were merged and nationalised, which resulted in the creation of the Empresa Consolidada Cubana de Aviación.

• With an accumulated experience of 70 years, Cubana de Aviación continues to grow and is currently working towards maintaining and increasing its international routes in order to meet the high demands from the tourism sector for flights to and from the island, and to increase its efficiency and competitiveness.

• Seventeen destinations on the American continent, seventeen in Europe and eight in the Caribbean attest to its growth, scope and potential.

•The routes and destinations subject to reciprocal codeshare are all routes between Madrid and Cuba operated by both companies.


• Air Europa has its code on the MAD-SCU and MAD-HAV flights with Cubana de Aviación twice a week.

• Cubana has its code on the daily MAD-HAV flights operated by Air Europa.
